Description |
Elbow adz carved in the style of a Northwest Coast indigenous tool. Alder handle (stained brown) with a carved and painted Raven's head grasping a human in its beak. The raven head is painted turquoise around the eyes and has red "lips" around the beak. The main raven head is dark brown. The human figure has been given red nostrils and red lips and its hair has been tied back with a red band. The blade is apparently an actual ground stone celt artifact of unknown origin. Leather wrapping on handle, with leather or sinew thong over nylon cord binding the celt to the handle. |
